Project Tutorials

Hello Computer Expert (or soon to be),


Now that you know how to type, it is time to begin the next phase--putting that skill to work.


You will work on Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel.  You may be familiar with these already.  They may be completely new to you.  Listed below are links to each program and some tutorials to help you with learning these applications.  If you can complete the projects with the tutorials, no problem--don't bother looking at them.  If you need some pointers on how to do these tasks, take a look at these helpful resources.

Okay, so now you are ready to go.  Remember to save your project as YOUR NAME.  Upload your saved projects to the appropriate Google Drive Folder:

MS Excel Activity
  1. Create an Excel spreadsheet and save it on your computer with YOUR NAME as the file name.
  2. Enter the data as it appears on the spreadsheet below.

  1. Find the total cost of b4 and c4 using a formula in d4
  2. Find the total cost of buying Snickers from both stores using a formula in d5
  3. Find the total cost of buying Nerds from each store using a formula in d7
  4. Using a formula in d6 find the total cost of buying Skittles from each store 
  5. Using a formula in d8 find the total cost of buying decorations from each store
  6. Using a formula in b9 find the total cost of all items from store 1. 
  7. Using a formula in c9 find the total cost of all items from store 2.
  8. Save your work.  Upload it to the appropriate Google Drive Folder:

MS PowerPoint Activity
  1. Create a new PowerPoint presentation and title it YOUR NAME.
  2. Create a title slide with the title “All About Me”  “by YOUR NAME.”
  3. Slide 2 introduce yourself.  Tell your name and how old you are. 
  4. Slide 3 tell when your birthday is.
  5. Slide 4 tell about your family. Who are the members of your family-their names etc.
  6. Slide 5 tell about your favorite subject at school. 
  7. Slide 6 tell about your hobbies.
  8. Slide 7 tell some of your favorite things (example: favorite color, favorite food, favorite TV show)
  9. Slide 8 tell what you would like to do after high school graduation.
  10. Each slide should include slide transitions.
  11. Each slide needs custom animation.
  12. Include pictures or graphics in at least 5 slides.
  13. Include background color or graphics in all slides.
  14. All spelling must be correct.
  15. All sentences must be grammatically correct.
  16. The presentation needs to be clear and easy to view.
  17. Save your presentation.  Upload it to Google Drive using the appropriate link:
